Vitamin D can help prevent Covid!

Updated: Oct 29, 2022

It's widely accepted that vitamin D does wonders for your immune system. Over the last few turbulent months, many studies and much research has been conducted to see if vitamin D can help prevent Covid-19 and the results are very promising, but hardly surprising to many of us who have supplemented with it over the years. As someone who has supplemented with vitamin D for around 12 years or so, I've been cold and flu free in all that time.

A series of recently published studies has confirmed that not only can vitamin D help prevent SARS-CoV-2, the virus that can lead to Covid-19, but it can also reduce the severity of the illness. A recent meta-analysis of 40 research studies found that daily, long term doses of vitamin D protect against respiratory infections. Many other studies have found associations between vitamin D and Covid-19 susceptibility.

Interestingly, Italian researchers have stated that people who were admitted to the ICU at San Luca Hospital in Milan with severe Covid-19 symptoms had lower levels of vitamin D and higher levels of interleukin-6 (a protein produced by the body associated with high inflammation) than those hospitalized with milder symptoms (non ICU). People who died at the hospital from Covid-19 were also more likely to have low levels of vitamin D than those who survived, the study concluded.

We at NN strongly advocate the supplementation of vitamin D3, particularly in the cold winter months, but there's probably never been a more important time than now to start taking it. Our vitamin D3 comes with vitamin K2, another vital vitamin that promotes healthy bones and both vitamins come perfectly balanced.

Please message me to order Nutrient Nirvana's vitamin D3/K2 while stocks still last and please check out our blog section to find out how vitamin D helps you and your body in so many ways.

Thanks for reading!

Paul.
