Magnesium L-Threonate (Magtein)

Magnesium L-Threonate (Magtein)

Magnesium L-threonate, or Magtein, is a molecule that transports magnesium ACROSS THE BLOOD BRAIN BARRIER!

And it’s transported specifically to the Hippocampus: a complex brain structure embedded deep into the temporal lobe that’s responsible for cognitive function (memory, learning, focus and concentration).

Magnesium plays a huge role in ATP production: energy at the cellular level. Your brain requires around 20% of all the energy your body produces. Without enough energy, your brain suffers tremendously and you experience brain fog, confusion and neuron problems.

One such neuron is GABA, a neurotransmitter that’s responsible for calming down the nervous system and buffering anxiety.

Magnesium l-threonate is the most effective nutrient for dealing with anxiety, worry and brain chatter late at night when you’re trying to sleep. Incidentally, combining l-threonate with thiamine (vitamin B1) is a great combination for this specific problem.

Magnesium l-threonate helps maintain the blood brain barrier that’s there to protect against toxins and infections. Interestingly, our gut, or second brain, has a barrier for the same reason. If the gut barrier is damaged, the result is leaky gut syndrome. If the blood brain barrier is damaged, the result is leaky blood brain barrier. People with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and MS are almost always deficient in magnesium.

Magnesium L-threonate, or Magtein, helps to promote good quality sleep. People who get enough sleep are generally more productive and happier as a result.
